About Us

About Us

We are a group of Greek olive farmers who treat their trees with care and follow traditional methods for harvesting, pruning and extraction. Our groves are located on the sunny hillsides of Northwest Kalamata, in Greece. The groves are located on these slopes, approximately 700 feet in altitude and in low humidity.

The Beginning

Our story began in our childhood. In those days, we spent much of our time in the olive groves as our parents took care of the trees. After the freshly harvested olives were pressed at the local mill, we anxiously awaited to taste the brand-new olive oil of the year.

We used the olive oil for almost everything: cooking, baking, salads, snacks, as a preservative for eggplants and roasted tomatoes - and sometimes even in oil lamps (oh, well).

At the time, we didn't consider what we had was special, because it was so ingrained in our daily lives. But as we grew up and moved away from home, we started to realize what a privilege it was to have such a luxury in abundance.

The Taste Test

Were we biased because we grew up with it, or was our olive oil really a luxury, we wondered. We decided to find out. We began giving it away to friends, chefs and food enthusiasts we knew. Anyone who ever tried it always asked for more. The consensus we got; "Your olive oil tastes amazing!"

So we did our own taste test. We bought some of the most popular and most expensive olive oils (yes, it cost us a small fortune) and compared them against ours. And what we discovered confirmed the feedback we had received: Thanks to its fresh, distinct flavor, our olive oil went toe to toe and beat most of the other brands.
That's when we decided we needed to share it with the world.

The Idea: Connect the Farmers to the Consumers, Adopt a Tree

We had a few options available to us when we began to put together our plan for sharing this great gift with the rest of the world. Our goal was to get the local farmer's product to the consumer to its purest form possible and also have farmers that follow traditional techniques get rewarded and benefit from this. We thought that the best way to put the 2 together was to get people to become part of this, part of a greater circle of friends and family thus the idea of the adoption came along. That way, the farmers can feel and directly get the support and respect of people that 100% deserve. At the same time the consumers will have the chance to taste and bring to their families and friends and exceptional product.

Our Olive Oil Production: How We Retain Quality, Flavor and Health Benefits

Every little detail makes a big difference when producing an exceptional olive oil. The soil, olive variety, grove treatment, climate, harvest time, and of course, production methods are all very important factors that contribute to the flavor and quality of olive oil. Here are the three main reasons why our olive oil is so good:

  • We are blessed with the ideal location

Our olives grow on the sunny hillsides of Kalamata. Olives grow best in the Mediterranean climate and on slopes - this way, when it rains, water can moisten the roots then trickle off rather than make a puddle and drown the roots.

  • We mind every olive oil tree

We prune the olive oil trees year-round to ensure each olive gets enough air and sunlight. During harvest, we use traditional methods. We then gather the fallen olives and inspect them one by one, removing any rotten or damaged ones.

  • We use authentic pressing techniques to ensure quality.

After picking, the olives are washed, transferred to the local mill and pressed immediately, filtered and packaged. From the grinding wheel, the olive paste is pressed for a couple of hours, where the oil and water flows off and is sent to a centrifuge. The remaining olive paste is then fed to animals or used as fertilizer; nothing is wasted.

A Message from Our Parents, the Farmers

We are farmers who love good food. As Greeks, we also love the idea of preparing our own meals at home, and we get together with good friends who love to cook and share meals together too. We value flavorful ingredients, farm-fresh produce, aromatic herbs, and last but not least, a plentiful of good olive oil.

Thank you for adopting our trees and helping us do what we do best. In the spirit of sharing, we are opening up to you our special family recipes, which we've made using our olive oil for generations and generations.
